A new opening!
Rio Maui is a new studio in the heart of Lahaina, and they needed to get the word out! Below is an 11x17 promontional poster that's currently plastered all over town!
ps- sorry for delay between posts! this has been one of the busiest years for DK Design. be on the lookout for a new website and updated portfolio in the coming months!

Electrifying Websites!
I'm just realizing that's been awhile since my last post. I've been real busy working multiple projects; the latest being Century Electric. These guys have been in business for over 30 years and are taking their first step into the web world. Their site is pretty straight forward and informational, and as always I've made sure they'll do well with Google.

Irene Vasey, Attorney at Law
Irene is a public interest lawyer concentrating on helping families with special education needs. The site is loaded with Google-friendly text, and includes an online intake form that users can submit straight from the website...which means cutting down on time, paper, and money!

24-7 Online Travel Site
This site has a ton of neat features that help make travel dreams a reality. Customized request forms forward travel information to a live travel agent, who returns the best deals possible to the customer. This site also integrates with a 3rd-party system that the site owners maintain on their own!
Brand-New Anya Blu E-Commerce Site
Any front-line driven business needs to keep it's website fresh...just like the inventory. That's why Anya Blu and I teamed up once again to completely upgrade it's overall look as well as the nuts & bolts of the cart system itself. What followed was a fresh, new site on the front end and added security and ease of use on the backend.
Caffeine Overload
Boy I'm just realizing what a busy few weeks it has been. I've had a bunch of projects in the construction phase, each moving along at a moderate pace, then WHAMMO! They all sorta got finished at the same time. Here's the latest launch: Watch Hill Coffee Company. This site has a unique design and features a blog that is totally maintained by the owners.
Arts Emporium Studio.com
I just might be the world's least flexible man. I'm serious. However that didn't stop me from tapping into my inner yogi on this project! A new yoga studio has opened up in downtown Westerly, and I was called in to get the website rolling. The design needed to be loose and flowing, so I added some subtle touches to break out of the old 4-corner box model. The Grand Opening was a success and already they are on Google's first page under their desired search terms!
Comspec Engineering Website Launched
Comspec Engineering is a growing company that needed to upgrade it's website. One look at the old site and I could see why...it was stuck in that old school layout, without any attention-grabbing images and programming that wasn't very Google-friendly. Fast-forward to a few weeks later, and they now have a modern looking site with lots of back-end programming that will help them climb Google's ranks. Most importantly, the site simply reflects the company's growth, professionalism, and quality of service.
We've Been To Georgia
A bunch of people in the medical industry saw my work in the state of Georgia... how about that? OST Medical was in need of some new panels for their trade show booth; something modern and eye-catching to showcase their products. This was no ordinary design job, this was BIG - the finished product was about 10 feet tall, and it looked great at the show.

Island Rents has been launched!
It's here! Island Rents is an event rental company that needed some help getting a site up and running. With a little help from DK Design, we completed a site that looks classy, functions properly, and shows off their products and services. Click the picture below to visit the site.
Brochure Layout For Sale!
When inspiration strikes, you just go for the ride! I sat down to design a single brochure for Maui Digital Images, and within no time found myself staring at 4 totally different layouts. I eventually had to choose just one, but good designers never waste! The layout below didn't make the cut for this particular job, but it's a strong candidate for any number of other projects, and it's up for grabs!
Gabrieles Martial Arts Launched
DK Design to the rescue! Apparently these folks made many attempts to get a good site up and running, but it became clear that they just weren't getting the right help. That's when I got the call! The site is still under construction in certain areas, but is online for your viewing. Stay tuned for an upcoming forum and blog!
New DK Design!
On the web, you just got to keep things fresh...that's why every few months I find myself re-designing this site. Hope you all like it and continue to check back for the latest news and projects!
Maui Adventure Brochure
The last design I came up with for The Art Of Being went over so well, I was asked to do another brochure. Again, I had to make 2 versions: one English and one German. And wouldn't you know...after working on two such projects, I still don't understand German.

I won something?
Well I've officially made the switch from an "award losing" graphic designer to an "award winning" one! Apparently the folks down at Maui Magazine Vacation Guide thought one of my designs had "that great aloha style" (mahalo for your support!) and was worthy of being named Maui's Best T-Shirt for 2008. >read the article

AOB's yearly brochure
Here's a folding brochure I've recently designed. This project posed an interesting twist: one version was to be in English; with a second version in German. Luckily the client had provided me with all the written text, and thank goodness for "cut and paste".

Yoga Flyer
I got the opportunity to switch gears from websites to print work on this project. A yogi friend of mine needed some basic postcards to spread the word about a new class she would be teaching. The cards are 2-sided, and use a nice earth-tone palette.

Anya Blu Boutique E-Commerce Site Launched!
It's been a long time coming, but boy was it worth the wait! An e-commerce site literally opens your doors for business with the entire world. The site is loaded! For users: easy to browse inventory, member registration, mailing list sign up, and secure online payments. For the store owners: automatic online receipts, shipping calculation, easily updated inventory, and integrated systems that do most of the work without having to touch the keyboard!
Maui Weddings of Aloha Launched!
Maui Weddings of Aloha has been launched and is looking awesome! This site marks the second project I've done since switching from traditional HTML to the lighter, flexible, and all-around brilliant CSS code. The main feature of this site is the "wish list", which allows users to customize their wedding packages and keep track of their budget. See it for yourself by clicking below!
Another new site launch
OST Medical is the manufacturer of a highly specialized piece of medical equipment. They are leaders in their field thanks to a pretty impressive machine, and, up until this week, they were hurtin' for a new website. I stepped in and got them a site that matched the quality and professionalism of their company. Check out the screen shot below, and view the portfolio for more.
I'm a sellout
Yup, big time. Wanna buy one of my shirts? Haha...congrats to Beach Bums Bar and Grill for a successful opening night (and thanks for the food!) It was a hoot seeing the artwork I did all over the place. If you're ever in the mood for good grinds stop in to see them in Ma'alaea Harbor and don't forget to check out all the DK Designs!

Beach Bums Logo
The good thing about working with restaurants is the free food. Seriously. Beach Bums is a restaurant opening up in Ma'alaea Harbor and man these guys cook a mean barbeque. The owners originally needed a single logo, but soon the project evolved to include glassware, t-shirts, and lots more. You'll see more of what we came up with in my portfolio.
